Actor John Travolta has been through a lot during his life. He has suffered immense loss when his son Jett passed away. Later, he lost his wife Kelly Preston who battled breast cancer.




Jett was born in 1992 and was the oldest child of John and Kelly. At the age of two, he started experiencing seizures which kept getting back over the years. When he turned 15 months old, Jett was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease and was on the autism spectrum.

On the day he died, in 2009, Jett suffered a seizure and hit his head on the bathtub. At the time of his passing, the family was vacationing in the Bahamas. It was reported that a caretaker found Jett unconscious and he was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead.

The death of their son broke John’s and Kelly’s hearts. They said that he was a special young man who lightened up the lives of everyone he encountered. “Jett lit up the lives of everyone he touched,” the devastated parents said at the time. “It breaks our hearts that the time we were able to spend with him was so fleeting. For the rest of our lives, we are going to hold dear the time that we were able to spend with him.”

The family set up the Jett Travolta Foundation, a charity that, in part, funds assistance and support for children with special needs.

The Pulp Fiction star never misses a chance to pay tribute to his late son and remind everyone just how much he misses him every single day.

On what was supposed to be Jett’s 30th birthday, the actor shared a heartfelt message on the social media.

“My dearest Jetty, I miss you more than words can describe. I keep you in my thoughts each and every day. Have a wonderful birthday! Sincerely, your Father.”




John’s wife, Kelly, died in 2020. “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” Travolta wrote on Instagram one day after her passing. “She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.” John and Kelly met while filming 1989′s “The Experts.” They married in 1991 at a midnight ceremony in Paris stayed together until her passing.
