We all go about our day-to-day lives without much happening that is really noteworthy. We tend to get up in the morning, go to work, come home and prepare to do it all over again the next day. Every once in a while, however, you may see something that really affects the way that you think. You know that you must do something about it from the moment you see it. That is perhaps how Courtney Adeleye felt when she heard something about her daughter’s teacher. It seems as if the teacher was struggling financially and Courtney knew that she had to do something about it. There were even rumors that the teacher had to take public transportation because she couldn’t afford her own car.




Most of us recognize how busy teachers are, both while they are in school and out of school. Courtney knows what it’s like to lead a busy life. As the CEO of The Mane Choice haircare products, she also knew that she was in a position to do something about that teacher and the struggles that she had. She knew that it was possible to take a lot of burden off of her shoulders so she got together with her husband and decided to do something amazing.

Some intense discussions took place about what they would do for Courtney and it was decided that they would purchase a new car for her. It was going to be a hit to the budget but they knew that it would be the right thing to do.

Not only did they select the car, but they also wrapped it with a blue ribbon to surprise her.

Courtney was absolutely excited when it was time to give the teacher her gift. There was still the question, however, would she consider it to be a kind gesture or would she be offended?

The moment that the gift was given was recorded on video:

“When my husband tells me that the teacher who has been teaching my girls for the last few years has been catching multiple buses to get to and from work every day in the hot sun and cold! He said we should give her something I said… say no more! When you ask me to define success… this is my response!”

Courtney could have used the money to buy something for herself but she knew that it was better spent elsewhere.

Courtney gave the teacher the keys to her new car and she began crying. It was exactly what she needed and she couldn’t stop hugging her.

The teacher said:

“No more sitting in the cold, no more riding the bus, no more waiting on somebody to come and pick me up!”




Courtney also paid the car off completely so there are no payments.

We could all use a Courtney in our lives from time to time. It’s nice when people understand the needs of others and act on it.
